Ive decided to give a review a shot. I’ll be talking about Ubuntu Hardy Heron.
First let me say, this review may not be the norm, because I’m using a computer that is a bit above average. It is an AMD Phenom Triple core 2.1GHz with 3 GB of RAM. Second let me say, my first Ubuntu install was actually Kubuntu 6.06. On a Pentium 4 2.66GHz with 768MB of RAM. My second install was on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. This was possibly the most difficult thing I’ve ever done on a computer. I did however get it all to work. I reinstalled Kubuntu on this laptop with 7.10, and it was so smooth, everything worked out of the box.
On to the review of 8.04.
Everything booted up perfect, until the desktop loaded and the resolution was wrong for my 1440×900 NEC display. I thought to myself, “Oh god, thats right it has an nVidia card.” Read the rest of this entry »
